i just realised that i totally missed the Da Chang Jing show even though i reminded myself to watch it at 9pm when i was watching channel 8's drama serial. crap. =x well. not that i'm addicted to it or what, but since i only get to watch it once every week, i was thinking maybe i can be smart and try to piece the events together from last week till now and happily say that "oh i know what's going on!"
okay maybe i didn't do that well because i ended up asking people why did the female lead bury her mentor when one week ago she's still aliving and kicking (literally) some bad people's ass.
so much for trying to catch up on tv. bleh
on a brighter side, world cup's finally coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
poor siew can't get her house cabled up for some unknown technical reasons so i'm thinking to get my house cabled up and enjoy one month of unlimited soccer fever!!! wheee i LOVE Cristiano Ronaldo!!! (and his silver porsche! heeheehee) alternatively, maybe we all can just go down to some decent pubs with decent tv screens and scream along with everyone else. hmmm. but then, nothing beats a comfy seat, chips, drinks and a pillow in hand! shall check out the cable subscription later. muahahaha
oh i like Ricardo Kaka from brazil too! like denise would say, hot stuff!
*sizzles*
=)
man the bad thing about world cup in june is that great singapore sale is in june too! why are there so many events happening in june? Grrrr maybe i can shop in the day and watch soccer at night. wahahaa. yes, that will be the plan XD
let's digress.
i just found out that Pandora is actually a Greek myth person. i always thought the Pandora's Box in far east plaza is some weird name invented by the shop keeper but nah, there's actually a story behind it! time for bedtime stories!
[disclaimer: got it from june's issue of teenage magazine]
It all started with ancient greek mythology whereby god Zeus was enraged with his bro and decided to punish him and his creation: mankind.
Pandora is created by the gods as a poisoned gift for man. Its a female by the way. she's given traits such as charm, cunning and boldness. then she was given a box and told never to open it. (its stupid, of course she will open it. even I will open it -.- if you don't want her to open it, then just don't give!)
anyway, she opened it (duh) and release all the misfortunes on mankind like plague, sorrow, poverty, crime etc. the problem is, once opened, she shut it in time to keep one thing in the box : hope.
darn
yeah so while the world is in chaos for goodness-knows-how-long (sorta pun intended) Pandora is slacking away not knowing what to do (i added that in) until one fine day (okay, not that fine hahaha) she "chanced" upon reopening the box, at which the point Hope fluttered out. (like a butterfly?)
that's when erm, everyone lives happily ever after!
so! the moral of the story is that mankind always has hope in times of evil, although Hope has a great deal of catching up to do. (fly butterfly fly!)
don't despair, people!
becuase there's always Hope!
=D
think i'll look up on Greek mythology someday 'coz it sounds really interesting! its just like reading cinderella without the cheesy pumpkin turning into a carriage part. lol. and it really sets people thinking after reading all that because it reflects onto your daily life and i think it strengthens people psychologically too! cool...
alright, back to reality, i went shopping today and bought a sleek and stylish metal card-cum-money-holder with fake diamonds and everything for $25!! heh heh. its not very cheap but its really worth the price! =) i'll take a picture of it soon!
oh man its 12midnight and i have to work at ten tomorrow.
sleeping time!!!!!
