Travel packing list for a 2-week trip
On day pack
1 full set of spare clothes (including underwear and such)
Camera
2 Wallets [with cash (separated), credit/debit card, student card (there might be discounts for students)].
Passport
File/ Envelope (with a photocopy of your passport, insurance contact, emergency numbers list, itinerary.)
Tissues & wet tissues
Water bottle (empty it first, because there is the 100ml limit for liquids at the customs)
MP3
Sweets (for itchy mouths)
Pens and a notebook (if you want to keep track of events etc)
Umbrella
Cap (sun can be glaring in places like Europe during summer as there are no clouds to block the sunrays)
Sunglasses (ditto above)
In main luggage
** Try to get a luggage tag, it helps when your luggage gets lost in transition.
Duffel bag – I like to use this to act as my “cabin” luggage when I come back. I don't bring an extra cabin luggage because it will be really inconvenient to drag two luggages.
Clothes (tops, bottoms)
- 10 tops for day wear, 3 bottoms (try to get bottoms that fully cover your legs because some religious places might have strict rules). Quantity is adjustable, depending on the weather, whether you can do your laundry over there etc
- For night time, one track pants, one pair of FBT shorts, one long-sleeve overall, and 3 t-shirts. To prepare for all variations in temperature
- Try to get those compressible bags to put your clothes because they will take up a lot of space and you will want space to put your gifts. And pack light. Bring tops that are lighter because you will have your jacket to keep you warm anyway.
- Jacket and/or windbreaker.
Undergarments
- It’s up to your choice whether you want to bring disposables or normal undies. You can also bring detergent powder to wash them too.
- Usually 1 pair of bra can last a woman two to 3 days if she does not sweat. It can still be washed with detergent powder so you can adjust the quantity to your liking

Shampoo & conditioner
Body foam
Facial wash/moisturizer/sunblock/your beauty regime
Tooth brush and tooth paste

Slippers or sandals (Slippers for night use)
Extra shoes (If your current shoe is still very new, better bring a worn pair which is more comfortable)
Chargers (camera, phone)
Voltage converter and two-pin plugs if your electronic stuff needs a two-pin plug.
More tissues
Medicine (panadol, plasters, medicated oil, diarrhoea pills etc)
Comb
Towel (if hotel does not provide.)
Plastic bags
Makeup
Sweets and/or biscuits (optional)
Contact lenses
Swiss army knife (for convenience, like opening food packets on the go. MUST put in check-in luggage first, then transferring to your day pack thereafter)
For beach use
- A not-so-expensive shawl to spread on the sand if you want to sunbathe
- Suntan lotion / more sunblock / aloe vera gel for cooling
- Cream / repellent for ant bites or other insect bites etc
