tech geekness

I have so many bits and pieces of stuff to record down, but I seldom update now. Work has literally overwhelmed me and I think of nothing but work! haha! yes, it's unhealthy, and I'm trying to get myself out of it. =D jing shall not be such a workaholic. jing shall think about her upcoming 17days taiwan trip and nothing else! haha

Something happened yesterday that made me laugh like I've never laughed before:

Me: (hopping around trying to warm myself because marina sq is just too cold) lala! I want to say something.

Lala: what? (blank look)

Me: Brrr... 我的内脏在发抖！(half laughed half trembled)

Lala: HAHA! you know what! I want to put that on facebook!

Me: Facebook accepts chinese words meh? (still cold)

Lala: well... I can translate into english. Sheila Jayme says My internal organs are shivering!

Me: I'm called shrimp by my friend

Lala: Why shrimp?

Me: Cos I like prawns I guess. My favourite is Ebi (wide grin)

Lala: (giving me an I-can't-believe-you-are-so-weird look) HEH BI? (xia mi aka little dried prawns you see in mama shops)

Me: nonono! EBI, the japanese tempura prawn!

Lala: Eh, from sec sch till now, I still think you look like Chao Ta Roti (look below for illustration)





(yeah, my expression must have looked exactly like that)


anyway, it's called kogepan (literal translation = burnt bread) and it has a super hilarious story!!! hahahaha


and it goes...


An accident in the bakery's oven caused a piece of bread stayed in the oven for way too long. Thus Kogepan was born - a piece of brunt bread, having no chance to be sold.

One day, Kogepan was disillusioned with his life as a burnt bread bun. He was jealous of all the other beautiful white buns around him. So, he left home and went on a drinking binge. Kogepan drinks milk, but to bread buns, milk is like beer. After 2 days, Kogepan came to his senses. He returned home to the bakery where he was born and began reading a self-help book titled “How to become a delicious bread”.

Another version:

He was made of the best bean ingredient, but he was accidentally left too long in the oven and got burnt. No customers wanna buy a burnt piece of bread, so Kogepan's life purpose of being a delicious bread is left unfulfilled. Kogepan got a bit depressed at times thinking about it, and he may be found drinking milk (Kogepan gets drunk on milk), smoking or trying to pretend to be one of the popular breads at the bakery.


HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

gosh, does anyone know where to buy that soft toy? hahaha

so jing is not only a shrimp, a bat, but also a bread (burnt one, nonetheless) now? lol.
