I think I haven't post pics of SK and Danny's birthday celebration? and that was a month ago? whoops. *sheepish smile* work is time consuming leh.
Okay, let me start from recent times and move back yeah? =) Today, I woke up happy and finally not sleep-deprived, so I made a trip down to CCK library and started borrowing books from the Guardian's top 100 books list (look at my previous entry) and some Taiwan travel guide books to start my planning! =D I found this great book on 民宿 (wonder how do I call it in english... ahh. bed and breakfast) and the places inside are so quiant and pretty! I feel relaxed just by looking at it :D
Let's not be distracted by Taiwan for now. Back to my unpublished photos... Kbox had a march promo recently (till next tuesday!) and so siew and I trooped down to cine for a karaoke session from 8.30pm to 1.30pm! ended up being extremely tired as I woke up at 6.30am that day for work and had a hell of a shock at work. But it's still too cheap to pass up! I finally broke my boycott to kbox. heh. its about $13.50 in total (including GST and service charges, with free tibits, one drink and unilmited singing from 7pm onwards! how good is that! haha. well the unlimited part applies more for weekdays. Anyway, this promo is valid only on sundays through thurs.)
And I sang plenty of new songs *blissful look* plus had some hilarious moments singing 触电 cos siew was mimicking the words into actions. haha! No pictures for that day, but if kbox continues this promo, betcha I'll pop by more often! :D
Now back to last week, I went for a massage at vivo's kenko ($10 for 10mins) with xiao qian!

we were bored waiting outside so we took some photos of the little pond there. haha
the massage was good but not shiok enough. 10 minutes is seriously too short. and they didn't provide me with hot tea in the end! -.- was rather disappointed. but no matter, the massage helped my tensed up muscles :) oh and I saw this new national geographic place that replaced the spain thing in vivo, and browsed a few books there. Quite interesting I would say, though I think it's more of a furniture store.
Then I met kairu and shuhuiii for cheapo dinner soon after! (due us being the poor interns-cum-students, we queued for nearly an hour for a $8.60 set meal at a jap restaurant)

tuck in! itadakimasu!

the two CCK ladies! :) funny.. we don't ever meet often in lot 1 huh. haha! kairu, i book you for your virgin MOF dessert session kay! haha
and some time back, I met my cuzzies for a karaoke session at their condo! yay :D their songs variety is surprisingly good and yes YY, I haven't claimed back my camera cover yet! =/

everyone looks so stiff! hahaha
since I like to take photos of makan sessions (because I feel that they not only fills your stomach, but are also good catching up sessions too) here's one more at Crystal Jade @ Holland V! It's the legendary xiao long bao & steamboat buffet and it costs about $23. Well, if you gorge yourself with xiao long baos then it's worth it I guess. but I dislike the restriction on prawns though. and they ran out of my fave golden mushrooms! haha. Still, all in all, with a restaruant setting, $23 bucks is worth it lah. :D
that's siew saying "hi shrimp!"
my plate of pork strips sitting on the window. the waitress suggested it after seeing how full our table is. hahaa!
yuan yang steamboat. I kinda like their spicy soup base. not as oily (though after awhile the chilli oil does come out quite a bit) and still full of taste.
I think we had 10 xlbs in total? not a lot, but I was rather full by then. Oh! reserve early to avoid disappointment, even on weekdays!! we reached there at 8.30pm (start of the buffet) and was told that there were no seats left and we had to wait till 10.30pm for the buffet. so what did we do?
go to haagen dazs for ice cream!! the prices are not very easy to swallow but i had some vouchers so it was okay. that was my crepes and ice cream :D yums.
siew's cookies and cream and choc haha
back to the buffet, we had two prawns each (how pathetic) but they are quite big lah.
*stirs* "hmm... where is my lotus?"
going gaga over xlbs
Birthdays!
March is such a celebratory month with tons of birthdays.
There's Zu's birthday! She's our receptionist :D
And also xiao qian's birthday too! :)
there's cake, muffins, chewy juniors, old chang kee...

And now for another birthday celebration eons ago. =P

they were very excited about their presents
"hmm does the size fit? what does those words mean?"
a bottle whisky to play truth or truth (no choice at all) after all the delicious food. :P
don't ask me why we did this. camwhoring maybe? =P
must reciprocate!
Miensy, my new found friend at work :D
we are shooting each other
@ marina sq
went to the creative industry fair! :) Knew quite a lot about the various animation and publishing companies, quite interesting!
had a late dinner at MOF
say hi to "crysmien" mien sy won it at the mini arcade. I wanted a doraemon but it's too huge to be caught easily.
And we met another time to watch marley and me!
we ate at this 3-in-1 jap restaurant that comprises of ajisen, and two other jap branded restaurants. that's a tom yam curry soup by the way. :)
okomomiyaki
and jumping to another point in time (sorry for the mess of photos haha)
supper at the prata stall in bukit timah! that's a happy siew haha
milk tea!
stingray - not up to standards though =/
siew's fish-dunno-what. i like the egg :D
And now for the bar-hopping escapade!
started off with a dinner at raffles city. that's tempura from the food court. well, not very cheap, i would say. it's $1.60 per prawn tempura, and $1 for the veges I think. add all up and it's $13 bucks just like that. whoa. -.- but it's good though :D you can request for tempura flakes! (the tiny crispy stuff that are the residues haha)
and up we go to the new asia bar at swissotel! =D gorgeous view, isn't it? I can see orchard road all the way to clarke quay/boat quay!
my first drink. some speciality of new asia bar. forgot the name though. sth blue i guess. but it's really nice!
ahh. i remember this! it's coco loco i think.
shine on me :)
we were quite futuristic that night, talking about aspirations and childhood dreams haha
And another day to Helipad!
first, dinner at fishermen's wharf.
the greens!
the fish! it's quite value for money. :D and choose the homemade chips. =)
Helipad! due to the sudden downpour (it really just poured), we couldn't make it to the top to enjoy the view =( but still, lounging inside while looking at rain splattering outside is quite an enjoyable moment. :D
dark, dark us
who's that? it's our auntie junming! hahaha!
i like their chairs!
it's located at the top of Central mall, so just take a lift up, walk through the carpark and you'll reach it. a bit secluded, but there are signs along the way. :) their drinks are not bad, but a lot of toothpaste-like concoctions
and their sinks are way cool! you have to step on something before water spurts out. haha!
yay! I'm finally done! :D off to search for more taiwan stuff now!
