The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
Actually, i planned to start this entry off with the huge xmas eve celebration post, but since i'm reading The Last Lecture (and still halfway through), i figured i might as well give a short description on how great this book is! =D by chance, i got to know about this from kairu :) i realised i've taken a liking to non-fiction books recently. they are blunt and honest, without having you dig deep to search for meaning or to spend them thinking what the book is trying to impart you. it's just there, plainly and gives you all the time in the world to reflect on those words.
Again, here are some quotes I find interesting (for the first half of the book):
- Time is all you have... and you may find one day that you have less than you think
- Brick walls in your life are there for a reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something.
- Engineering isn't about perfect solutions; it's about doing the best you can with limited resources.
- As for men who are romantically interested in you, ignore whatever they say, and only pay attention to what they do. (nice advice)
And now for the celebration that warrants an entry by itself...
Christmas Eve bash!!!!
(photos are gonna be super disorganised in terms of timing, cos i'm using some of siew's pics and some of mine. haha.)

dinner at da mario pizzeria - my all-time fave italian restaurant! that's derrick's yummy seafood pasta in a wrapper dish

my capellini regina :)

and ravioli!

group photo!

still sane

one of the times we went wild :D we went up this podium-like thing on impulse to take pictures haha

check out the cute ang moh behind us

that guy took my santa hat so i took a picture with him and his seemingly drunk friend. lol!

the music was great, company was great and basically we were all over the moon for no reason. it's christmas!

okay i so totally embarrassed myself by putting this up, but this is really funny :D david's i-am-innocent-what's-happening look is classic!

then we got sillier haha!

another sane photo

miss mieh and i :)

miss mieh and zhukun! (both are nicknames)

derricko and jingo!

and the ever insane david!

me and my lil santa hat

i prefer the huge hat haha!

it's champagne time!!!!!

yeah yeah. no explanations needed cos i have no idea why i did that haha

the small and the big

the duelling pianists cum entertainers heh. they belt out retro songs after retro songs, with a few funny ones in between like 'ghostbusters' and 'once an austrian went yodeling'! i love the latter's dance moves. kiddish but absolutely fun!

merry christmas!!! of course, never forgetting the real reason for christmas! :)

yay champagne. i hate the taste of it though.

david being the usual one he is
and here comes the pouring of champagne into ppl's mouths

er he's a total stranger but he's standing around so we spread the love and joy!

look at my mouthful of foam. i spilled everything out though. hahaa! too much bubbles!

and cheers!

craziness

though siew's face was cut off by the camera, i thought this kinda sums up the expressions we have that night. hahaa

=)

did i mention great music??

all in all, a night to defintely remember =) there are actually kissing photos (all in the name of good fun) but let's not go there shall we. haha! you can check out our dancing videos on facebook!
time to get back to my uncompleted book. i'm such a bookworm heh! time really means nothing to me when i'm reading. i'll be so engrossed in the book, which is one of the pleasures i really enjoy =)
