YOG

woohoo!

Youth Olympics - singapore (that merlion is damn cute) vs moscow - singapore won!

finally singapore's moving away from boring financial sectors to some more interesting (and entertaining) areas - Singapore flyer, F1, YOG!

more tourists, more income, more jobs, and ultimately, a much more developed singapore that is all-rounded and making it's mark in the world.

of course i'm proud of my little sunny country =D

though i wish it would snow once in awhile. oh well.

daddy just said sth that made me thought about why our prime minister was not really smiling happily during the ceremony just now. this YOG indicates success in certain ways, but behind it there needs to be a lot of hard work, merticulous planning and execution. no wonder he's stressed. =x i would be if i were him. haha. and where will we hold the opening/closing ceremony? our new national stadium is not even ready by 2010. and we are hosting the Asian games in 2012. brilliant. and so many things could go wrong. =x gosh, i hope singapore can tide through this.

read the following

"Now, Taiwan Foreign Minister Mark Chen is a sophisticated man, of course, but his recent characterisation of Singapore as 'a tiny country the size of a piece of dried nose shit' shares the same logic as Rousseau's primitive's mistaken accusation of strangers as 'giants'.

As every Singaporean knows now, Mr Chen, speaking in Hokkien, had called Singapore 'bi sai'. The Straits Times, with its accustomed clinical precision, translated that as 'dried nasal mucus'. Reuters offered 'piece of snot' instead, AFP suggested 'booger' (which is American slang for snot), and a colleague of mine came up with 'nose shit'." credits to www.sangam.org

appearances can be deceiving! you ain't see nothing yet. and no one gets away freely after insulting my country. snort! what goes around comes around dude. but i find the straits times' interpretation uber hilarious. trust it to come up with such a neutral and high-class sounding interpretation. lol!

you know, i was telling a friend online that i should organise a 3D 2N trip around singapore. covering all the historial areas, museums, shopping centres, entertainment places, food trails etc. cool eh. a singaporean touring around singapore. staying in hotels and going home if we ever feel a tiny weeny homesick. hee hee hee. i think with the amount of activities, it should be 6D 5N

any takers? =D

i'm starting to enjoy my one week long holiday break now. =) there are things to do but i'm taking it slowly. hahaa. life has been great!
