I hereby thank my CS107 teacher who gave us this article to read by Chee Soon Juan.
XD
Yes, she told us to form a persuasive argument against him, but reading that article somehow reminds me that i have to have a broader perspective of things. which means, at times, i do think that mr. chee is right. of course, one needs to stand firm in reality too and i do agree he does try to entice you to believe in his judgement by using his "persuasive" words. now i know the power of words. muahaha!
everyone is using media to influence people. political parties (both PAP and opposition, don't you think so?) use them to lure believers, much like black magic actually, and people are constantly pulled in either ways, much like the dog-and-bone game. aiii. what a sad world. =/ but then, i do believe we have to stay true to ourselves and accept people's opinions though we need not heed their advice. Thus, no one is perfect and we shall not request people to be perfect. =)
tee hee hee. i remember reading Goh Chok Tong's speech at Today's celebration of its 5th anniversary i think. Mr Goh said, "I wonder what our young journalists study in their university today."
well, i would reply, "you will be surprised."
However, i think we would be responsible yet free-thinking journalists. heh. all hail to greater press freedom in singapore!!! yeah!
[man, i hope no one sues me kekeke!]
*post note: I have the sudden urge to read his books, to be free and dare to change. i wonder who is brave enough to sell them...
