man. the past few days are eventful enough. hahaha.
lets start from the day i went for NTU's mass com interview! =D
I was damn unlucky on that day. =( seriously. firstly i had to take a cab down to boon lay to meet *cough* (can't say her name) because i'm rushing for time. took me about ten minutes to get there and that girl came twenty minutes later!!!! =P anyway i thought i knew where the school of communication and information building is so i happily told her that the bus 199 will definitely pass by it so we won't be late.
as predicted due to my unlucky streak, the bus 199 actually didn't go round to that building afterall!!!!! so we dropped off at the school of art, media and design at exactly 10.45pm while my test starts at 11am. crap. i was so nervous that my friend forced her friend who is studying in NTU to wait at the SCI's bus stop while we try to get a taxi within the school compounds. =( thank goodness i managed to catch a cab and told the driver to go round the school while searching for the building.
in the end thanks to her friend, we knew where to stop and we wanted to use a shortcut to the second from a side door but it's SHUT! -.-"' the luck doesn't end here. i rushed down again and back to the main lobby to take another flight of stairs and managed to plop myself in the computer room seconds before they closed the door and start the briefing. =X
there are about 60 to 70 people in the room and we did the test on internet which comprises of ten mcq questions and a half comprehension thingy. yah.. the mcq is totally about current affairs and i panicked when i read the first question:
who is the secretary-general of the united nations?
O.o
goodness.
the prep talk my dad gave me the night before didn't HELP much because all he talked about are oil prices, stock market, casino and stuff like that! i was racking my brains trying to remember all the gp lessons i've been through and i'm SO sure that ms J did mentioned the person once or twice before.
and behold!
guess what? i got it correct!!!! wheeeeeee
okay its a wild guess + partial memory but then just now i checked and its indeed Kofi Annan!!!! YES!
that was just one question. as for the rest, its sorta easy because they ask stuff like what is the recent issue between singapore and malaysia (bridge), jack neo's production company (raintree), malaysia's prime minister (abdullah badawi) and some other stuff that i can't remember. haha.
hope i got at least 7/10 or something.
but then after the mcq thing my luck took an extreme downturn because i dropped the stupid mouse (yes. can you believe it?????) AND the whole internet explorer shuts down for no reason (must be the connection) and therefore the consequence is that i lost everything i typed for the compre!!!!! how exciting -.-"' i was literally breaking out in cold sweat and thinking to myself, "man, if i were so lucky to be in time for the test, why do i have to suffer this as well??"
so i asked for extra time and the kind souls in the room told me to take my time and just re-type everything.
*sob*
it was way shorter than what i had previously typed and i didn't really check much after typing because it feels so weird being the only one in the room typing away while the rest are enjoying themselves with the free food and tour. BLEH
at least after the test i had two of my friends to accompany me around the campus so it wasn't that bad after all. =) Thank you girls!!!!!!
we had lunch at a cafe near the school of biological sciences and the baked rice is gooood. not finger-lickin' yummy but still rather acceptable to my hungry stomach. heeheehee.
Then came 2pm which is my interview time. =X i finally found my "tourguide" of the day and apologized for my disappearing act but she's so friendly and told me not to be too nervous! =P i was chatting with her outside the interview room because we thought the previous girl is still inside but soon after we found out that actually the interviewers are waiting for me already. -.-
*shivers*
i couldn't say that the interview was a breeze but i managed to somehow survive it though there are times which i really don't know what to say when they ask stuff like, "how would you use your knowledge in the real world etc etc." that time all i thought was like, i don't know what happens daily in a media company so the lack of experience does make me wonder whether i made the right choice about going to mass com. hmm
i still remember the day i sniggered when derrick told me to try mass com and i was like, "hahaha! very funny. you think i can make it?"
but when i was having the interview, i told myself not to have doubts about my ability and to show the interviewers that i really want to venture in this area regardless of how tough it is and so if i really managed to get in (praying hard) i'll thank derrick a million zillion times. serious!!!!!
i wonder if the two profs found out about this blog because i told them i have one and i constantly update it. =X they seemed REALLY interested but i didn't give my address in the end because i was just thinking about some weird stuff i wrote (like scientology) and all the warped logic i have so i chickened out in the end.
maybe next time if i wrote more about what i think about what's happening in the world rather than my life i would be happy to tell them my address. =)
but then, perhaps they already googled me and found out about this.
*waves* hi!
its really scary to know that anyone and i do mean ANYONE can just come my blog and look at my ramblings.
hmm....
internet is an invisible alien that invades everyone's life.
and i'm a victim.
*grin*
okay more tomorrow or maybe the day after. i still haven't talked about what happened at work today! hahaha. learnt some pretty cool stuff when the restaurant is almost empty and we all have nothing to do. LOL
nights!
