baybeats 2005 and tokyo kosei wind orchestra

Ahhh... I feel very 'musical' recently. been to esplanade for four days in a row now. i can memorise every single shop in there. plus those in marina square too! hahaha... right-o! shall talk about yesterday's event first.

went to watch international youth wind orchestra at 1pm. unfortunately, with the NDP rehearsals going on, siew can't get in with her cab and she have to resign to walking from raffles hotel, which seems pretty far away. lol. poor siew. =P in the end, we were late by 45 mins and have to be brought to a viewing room to watch the remaining concert before intermission.

The orchestra is superb! with boston brass as soloists. =D damn nice! saw my band fest friend, yao cong inside too! hahaha.. the pro tuba player. whoa. however we left after the intermission though. we figured might as well eat cos we won't have time after the concert and i have another to go to at 5.30pm.

hence, we popped down to the Centrestage, introduced by chrys and yl!! =) thank you thank you! Decided to go for italian food in the end at six and seven! (yah, that's the name of the place) Ooh-ed and ahh-ed at the very very expensive menu and counted our money. haha! but there's this promotion with lunch sets at $8.90++ so we both ordered the grilled rib-eye steak. Wanted it to be medium rare at first but i figured not to risk it just in case they give me something with blood. *shivers*

The set is good, with choice of coffee/tea, soup of the day + garlic bread and the main course. You can add stuff like ice cream and drinks for only $2 when they charge 5 bucks for pepsi at normal rates! gosh....... the steak is yummy-licious! with crunchy carrots and potatos and cucumbers. ^^ we are very satisfied. heh. i'm gonna try their cheese sausages and mashed potatoes set some other day.

anyway, went to eat yami yoghurt (again cos i ate the day before with anh) and i think i'm in love with their lemon lime flavour. hohoho. shopping around in royal sporting house and siew saw a very nice reebok windbreaker and i like a addidas red jacket!!!! too bad its like $89 and without discount too. bah. till next time i guess. i still love my ole jackie. yay.

You all should go to Carl's Jr in marina square. its an american fastfood joint BUT their burgers are not at all junior. i mean, seriously. their portions are SUPER big. like those you see in supersize me. =) their tagline goes like this, "she doesn't mean it when she says size doesn't matter cos we are telling you it does." lame-o but got me in fits of giggles. heeheeheehee

reminds me of chrys's joke on friday. -_-"'

back to the concerts... went to meet huiwen and siew went to watch angela play ball. huiwen seems bored like anything and she kept saying she wanna go home. hahaha. i think too much of anime makes one lazy. heehee. rushed down to esplanade again for the tokyo kosei wind orchestra!!!!!!!!!

let me tell you, they are REALLY absolutely freaking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their harmony, their scales, their running notes, their sound quality, everything is perfect!! I'm so so so impressed. and they got a huge standing ovation at the end of their last song! guess what? they have only two flute players, two tubas, two euphos but they made it sound like they are eighty people strong! wow. and i really admire the string bass guy! he plays it like he's born with it man. =D maybe someday i'll go japan and watch their concerts. heh heh.

rather sad after the concert at the mrt station. oh well.

lalala.

happy that i got some eletrico songs. amanda ling is so sweet! =) support local scene! not very into punk/rock but i'm fine with anything so yah. i like 'keeping the dream alive'! olympics. woohoo.

anyway i'm at siew's house now. long story. yawn. i'll continue tml if possible. hahaa.

cheerios!
