sun-day

yesterday's another band day! i'm quite lazy to type out in full sentences but i'll list down some main points. and gush about others. haha

* blue slip on monday!!!!! woohoo. actually only from 12.30 onwards. i'm rather sad cos monday's a short day for meeeee. =<>

* our conductor invited the tokyo kosei wind orchestra's principle eupho player, Mr Muri (i think) for a two-hour long of masterclass session. and a master he is. guess how much he's being paid? $600 for two hours. MY GOSH. and guess what again? its half-priced because we r students and because acsi paid for his sessions too.

* so technically his lessons in japan costs US300 per hour and he is freaking RICH. i'm so honoured. serious!!

* our band's quite nervous when he came in and wore a suit and stuff. he's quite cute actually. as in 65-yr old with a round face and body etc. those who watch anime shld know how he looks like. he's just like those old sage u can find in comics. smiling always, with a whole chunk of wisdom.

* okay, i digressed. so, he went up and started conducting some parts of our competition piece and correcting our mistakes on the way. i have to admit, he's REALLY pro. like, wow!

* he kept saying that we singaporeans are very "rush". like to "rush" here "rush" there, thus we keep rushing our songs. hahahaha. quite true if u ask me.

* one thing he emphasized on is the ability to use ur heart and play. he taught us to put down the instruments and just sing the notes out and think about it at the same time. i find that he sings in very perfect keys too. he can be a famous singer man.

* so, the result of the excellent teaching he gave made our school very willing to fork out another few hundred bucks and invite him over on monday again (thus we get to pon school to practice) before he boards the flight back to japan that very night. whoa. tight schedule.

* yep, he have to teach acsi band too after ours, and TPJC's band too. which allows him exactly 1 hour to pack and get to the flight at 10pm on monday.

* i wannnnnnaaa be a musician!!!!!

* i added up all his earnings these two days (sat and mon) excluding the workshop he is giving today (sun) for all three schools and.............

Its an awesome sum of $3600 just for two days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

someone pls wake me up.

back to reality.

i bet he had like, 40 years worth of practicing and stuff. Don't think i can do that without getting bored so i might as well find another career. heh heh.

gotta go do some hwk! having lots practice in the coming wks and i foresee i'm going to be humming all the songs even in class and getting more and more blueslips along the way.

***********

PS: friday will have another blueslip! coz we r going to singapore conference hall for a soundcheck (the venue for SYF) and coming back to school in the night to stay over till the practice on sat. band band band.

PPS: will have one whole week of esplanade concerts to go to in july and will be released everyday at 12 plus i think. cons? three weeks before prelims. GEEZ.
